By 永寓所

The 2,000-Person Challenge's second week ran from 7/6 to 7/12. This week, 45 members submitted task reports, accumulating 100 approved tasks and 322 points. Coffee Chats, FAQ answers, flash tasks, and social sharing all pushed sustainability exchange one step further.

2,000-Person Community Challenge — Week 2 Recap | This Week, Everyone Really Started Talking!

From 7/6 to 7/12, the 2,000-Person Community Challenge wrapped up its first full week!

In Week 1, everyone was still getting familiar with the rules and joining their teams. By this week, quite a few members had already started scheduling Coffee Chats, answering FAQs, and sharing their observations and reflections.

Some people reconnected with sustainability peers they already knew; others reached out to a stranger for the very first time; and some even rallied their whole team for a group Coffee Chat (huge thanks to all the team captains 🤩).

What started as online tasks has gradually turned into a series of real conversations. 🥰

Week 2 Challenge Results

As of this week's tally, 132 members had set up their challenge profiles, with 45 members submitting task reports between 7/6 and 7/12.

This week's totals:

  • 104 task submissions
  • 322 approved points
  • 44 members completed at least one approved task

This week's most popular task was Coffee Chat, with 36 exchange sessions completed!

Pulling off a Coffee Chat takes initiative — reaching out, finding a time that works for both people, and then actually sitting down to talk (or standing, if that's your style 🤔). Thank you to everyone who took the time to write up their reflections afterward; your reports gave us a window into so many interesting exchanges: people talking through career transitions, swapping industry observations, and in some cases discovering the possibility of future collaboration.

FAQs Are Slowly Becoming Everyone's Shared Knowledge Base

This week, 24 FAQ answers were approved.

From how to get started in a sustainability career and what learning resources are out there, to how to stay current with sustainability trends — these questions may seem basic, but they're exactly where many people new to sustainability get stuck.

Everyone comes from a different background with different experiences, so the same question can have many different valid answers. Thank you to the members who took the time to share — your reply, your experience, may be exactly what helps someone else avoid a detour.

Team Progress

After Week 2, cumulative team scores are as follows:

  • Team C: 116 pts
  • Team D: 114 pts
  • Team B: 93 pts
  • Team E: 53 pts
  • Team A: 51 pts

Team C currently leads, while Team D made a strong push this week and the two are separated by just 2 points! That said, every team engages differently — some teams interact frequently in their group chat, while others prefer to work through tasks independently and submit quietly.

The leaderboard is simply a way for everyone to check in on progress — there's no need to feel pressured by the scores. Finding a participation style that works for you matters more than racing to complete as many tasks as possible. 🙃

This Week: 31 Flash Task Completions and 9 Social Shares

This week's flash task was joining your team's LINE group — something quick, so that everyone can keep pace with the weekly rhythm without it feeling like a burden.

Social sharing extended the challenge beyond the LINE groups: some members shared their reflections on the event, some wrote about Coffee Chat takeaways, and others turned their sustainability career observations into posts.

Thank you for letting the people around you see this challenge! And feel free to pair your sharing with our promotional image 😁

Every additional share might help someone who never knew about Sustalent Hub — or didn't know how to start a sustainability career — find a place where they can connect.

Week 3: Keep Going at Your Own Pace

If you've completed plenty of tasks, take a moment to look back at this week's conversations and shares — is there anything you'd like to keep building on?

If you haven't started yet, there's no need to worry — the challenge is still in progress!

You can start with whatever task feels most approachable:

Schedule a Coffee Chat with someone you'd like to meet (the dashboard also has booking links for sustainability peers we've gathered for you), answer an FAQ question you have experience with, join this week's flash task, or share a sustainability topic you've been following lately.

You don't need to complete a lot at once, and you don't need to treat it like homework. Start by opening one conversation — it just might take you somewhere you didn't expect.

Who is the sustainability peer you most want to meet this week? 🤓
